IGCSE

Cambridge IGCSE is a highly respected qualification. It has exactly the same value in admitting students to institutes of further education and employment as the UK-equivalent GCSE.

It is taken in over 100 countries worldwide and is widely recognised by higher education institutions and employers as evidence of academic ability. In some parts of the world, schools use Cambridge IGCSE as an international alternative to the local government’s examination.

In some countries, IGCSE qualifications will satisfy the entry requirements for university. In most others, they are widely used as a preparation for A-level, AS, International Baccalaureate (IB) and US Advanced Placement courses.

A-level

Cambridge International AS and A-level are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. They are widely recognised and valued by universities and employers alike.

GCE A-level is a 'gold standard' qualification. It has exactly the same value in admitting students to universities as the UK equivalent. AS levels have half the content of the corresponding Cambridge International A-level. Candidates can obtain the AS Level as a qualification in its own right or as a stage on the way to a complete A-level grade.

IGCSE

IGCSEs are an international adaptation of the UK GCSEs that have become immensely popular with learners and teachers both internationally and within the UK. They are valued specifically because of their international focus and exceptional progression opportunities.

It is an international qualification for school students (usually aged 14 to 16). IGCSEs prepare students for further study, including progression to GCE AS or A-levels or employment. It is widely recognised by higher education institutions and employers as evidence of academic ability.

A-level

Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced GCE (AS/A-level) are at a higher academic level than IGCSE and this qualification determines entry into universities in the UK and in other countries.

Edexcel prides its GCE A-level specifications to be clear, easy-to-understand, contemporary and engaging. Recently in 2008, the new specifications (syllabus) were changed for first teaching in 2008.
