British Council IELTS 25th Anniversary Scholarships 2014

 

The British Council IELTS Scholarships are awarded to high-calibre individuals with motivation to develop their careers and who demonstrate the potential to contribute to society after their further studies.  IELTS scholars are committed to networking within the IELTS community and sharing their experience with other IELTS candidates.  The scholarships will enable students to study any undergraduate or postgraduate programme at higher education institutions that accept IELTS as part of their admission requirements.      

The top 3 scholars in the East Asia region will each be awarded UK £25,000, to go towards tuition fees of their chosen courses. Additionally, 3 local scholarships will be offered to the best applicants in Singapore, each worth UK £2,500. 

*East Asia region includes Myanmar, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

 

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • reside in the East Asia region during the application period
  • take your IELTS with British Council Singapore between 1 May 2013 and 17 May 2014
  • get valid, minimum IELTS bandscore of 6.0 in each of the four component parts of the test: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • gain admission to a recognised higher education institution in Australia, Canada, the USA, the UK or Singapore that accepts IELTS as part of its admission criteria for the 2014/15 academic year
  • send us an acceptance letter from your university of choice by 27 June 2014
